Catfish Set-Lining Course
Come learn the traditional method of set-lining for catfish in this two day course!
Service Description
- Come join us on a very unique style of catfishing! - Come learn about the type of fishing we call set-lining, the conservation and laws about it, and how to do it to catch south Florida channel catfish! - This is a two part class and each part will be approximately 2 hours/day - Part 1: Meet at the location in Loxahatchee in the early evening to learn about and build out our set lines. Teaching will be about the history of set lining, the current laws, how set-lining works and of course, how to catch the target species! After learning and building out the set-lines, parents and students will join a 419 Fishing Academy Instructor on a brief trail walk to get to the fishing location and set the lines out! - Part 2: Parents and students will return the following morning and join the Instructor in going and pulling the lines. Legal catfish will be kept for harvesting. Parents and students will then learn the conservation and ethical harvesting side of set-lining and learn about the harvest/processing of the catfish. - *Disclaimer* This will include the dispatching and cleaning of any catfish harvested. - This class can accommodate 12 students. - Age range is 5-15yoa - All gear/tackle/bait will be provided for the class. - Parents and students are encouraged to wear clothing and footwear they are comfortable walking in. - Parents will accompany their children during the classes. This course is not only designed to teach the students to fish, but is also meant to enable parents to be able to enjoy their new hobby with them outside of the course. - Each student will have to be registered for the class separately. - 419 Fishing Academy is a step-up approved direct provider. Please contact us for information on how to register! Cancellation Policy For 419 Fishing Academy single day courses/events/workshops, no refunds will be available once the student is registered. This is due to the materials/gear/equipment needed to be purchased for each student before the class date.

Cancellation Policy If unexpected circumstances require you to cancel your registration, a refund will be provided for cancellations made until one week prior to the first class. A 50% refund will be provided for cancellations made within one week prior to the first class and for students who drop out within 7 days of the first class. No refunds will be provided for students who drop out after 7 days from the first class. Once the course begins, make up classes or credits are not offered for students who miss classes for any reason. In the event that unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather, illness etc. require 419 Fishing Academy to cancel a class, the class will be rescheduled, if possible.
