Intro to Surf Fishing

Service Description

This introductory course provides students and parents with foundational surf fishing skills through hands-on instruction. Participants will fish the surf, then learn basic knot tying and rig construction while emphasizing safety, conservation, and confidence in a coastal environment. Program Details (already Step Up–friendly): - Age Range: 5–15 years old - Course Length: 2.5 hours - Location: TBD - Cost: $50 per student - Gear & Tackle: Provided for class use - Format: In-person, hands-on instruction Educational Focus: - Introductory surf fishing techniques - Basic knot tying and rig setup - Safe and responsible gear use - Coastal fish awareness and conservation - Parent-child participation and outdoor learning - Parents and students are encouraged to wear clothing and footwear they are comfortable walking in. - Parents will accompany their children during the classes. This course is not only designed to teach the students to fish, but is also meant to enable parents to be able to enjoy their new hobby with them outside of the course. - Each student will have to be registered for the class separately. - 419 Fishing Academy is a step-up approved direct provider. This is due to the materials/gear/equipment needed to be purchased for each student before the class date.
